A bathroom handles liquid water, warm vapor, and repeated wet-dry cycles every day. A beautiful surface alone cannot manage those loads. The room needs a dependable path for water at the shower and a dependable path for humid air out of the house.
This approach starts with the hidden assembly. The tile is the finish; the waterproofing and ventilation are what help protect the home behind it.
The system beneath the surface
Waterproof before beautiful
Wedi combines a waterproof-core building panel, pre-sloped shower base, drain, sealants, fasteners, and accessories into one coordinated, tile-ready assembly. Used as a complete system and installed to the manufacturer's instructions, it limits the mix-and-match transitions where wet-area failures often begin.

Niches, corners, fasteners, plumbing penetrations, and the joint between shower base and wall are small parts of the finished room—but critical parts of the waterproof assembly. They are sealed, checked, and recorded before they disappear behind tile.
Vapor control after every shower
One hour, then off automatically
Waterproofing manages liquid water inside the wet area. Ventilation handles moisture carried in the room's air. We pair a properly sized bathroom fan that exhausts outdoors with an automatic timer so the homeowner can choose a full one-hour run without remembering to return and switch it off.
The Home Ventilating Institute recommends continuing bathroom ventilation for at least 20 minutes after use. A one-hour setting is Virtue's practical, conservative control for lingering shower vapor when the fan, duct, and room conditions support it—not a substitute for correct fan sizing or exterior venting.

Control moisture at both paths
Mold needs moisture. A continuous wet-area system helps keep liquid water out of vulnerable wall and floor materials, while effective exhaust ventilation removes humid air outdoors. Together, those controls reduce conditions that support mold growth and help protect indoor air quality, finishes, and hidden structure.
No bathroom assembly can promise a mold-free home. Plumbing leaks, fan capacity, ducting, maintenance, and whole-house humidity still matter.
Manufacturer warranty
Coverage built on documentation
Wedi publishes limited manufacturer warranty coverage for its systems, including 15- and 20-year PRO extensions for qualifying complete-system installations. Eligibility depends on the exact products and scope, a currently qualified PRO installer, pre-tile photographs, purchase records, and timely project registration.
We confirm the applicable term for each project in writing rather than assuming the longest advertised coverage. Manufacturer terms, limitations, and registration requirements control.
